On a side note, Aunt Debbie came to visit today. We had so much fun! :)

4 years and 10 years
On October 22nd Jimmy and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary. Maryanne and Ray babysat Mia while we went out to dinner. We had a wonderful time and so did Maryanne and Ray! :)
This weekend was my 10 year high school reunion. We went to the homecoming game on Friday night at my high school. It was great seeing old friends! It's funny to think about where my 18 year old self thought I would be in 10 years. (Ambassador to Spain living in Italy with an Italian boyfriend.) I did get the Italian part right. :) I'm so thankful I was wrong about the rest. I can't imagine my life without Jimmy and Mia! Looking forward to another 10 years. :)
Sleepy Girl
Lately Mia has been sleeping with a firm hold on her hair. Maryanne said that Jimmy and Debbie both slept like this too. We think it's so cute!
2 months old!
Yesterday Mia turned 2 months old!!! Time just flies. She is such a cutie. Jimmy and I just think the world of her. She smiles all the time now and has started "talking". We can't wait to hear her giggle, it's just around the corner. The only bad thing about turning 2 months is shots. :( On Friday, Oct. 30th Mia has her 2 month checkup and has to get a few shots. Luckily this time daddy is going with us.
Jimmy and I were looking at pictures from Mia's birthday and we stumbled across one that Jimmy took with his iPhone of me in labor. It's not the best quality but you get the idea. Yes, that is a window unit behind me. Our air conditioning went out two day before Mia was born. Luckily Ray and Maryanne had a window unit that we could borrow and we were able to go get one for upstairs.
It was only two months ago but it feels like Mia has been with us forever! Happy 2 month birthday peanut!!!
Lee and Justin's Wedding
On October 17th Lee Bush and Justin Perry were married! We were so happy to be a part of their special day. This was Mia's first wedding and she did great. It was also her first stay in a hotel. We had a great weekend in Charlotte and were so happy to see old friends and meet new ones!
Mia and daddy hanging out before the wedding.
What a smile!!!
This was one part of our hotel room. I'm sitting on the bed taking the picture.
So pretty :)

Oh so sweet!
Mia and I went over to the Sirianna's house today before coffee and Virginie took some pictures. Mia loved the candycanes (they were plastic). Here's my favorite!

So much fun!
This afternoon Mia enjoyed some playtime on her mat. There is this sun that lights up and plays music hanging on the bars above her head. She was "talking" to him and smiling at him. It was so cute!
I love this one!!!
We also played on her tummy mat. She's getting better at holding up her head!

7 weeks
Mia is now 7 weeks old. She's growing and changing everyday. It's so exciting to watch! She's really smiling now. On Monday we went to the library for the Baby Lapsit. She slept through most of the songs and fingerplays but I think down the road she will really love this. We've been enjoying our new playgroup and have made lots of new friends. This weekend we are going to a wedding in Charlotte. It will be Mia's first wedding and first stay in a hotel. We will take lots of pictures and I will post them on Monday. For now here's a picture I snapped this afternoon. Love the cheese!!!

Daddy's First Feeding
Jimmy got to feed Mia for the first time! I started pumping last week and tonight we thought we would introduce a bottle. She doesn't seem to care where her food comes from as long as it gets in her belly. :) She did great and Jimmy loved it!
I love this smile!

Mia 6 weeks!
So much has happened in the last three weeks. Sorry I haven't posted sooner. First a quick summary and then some details. Let's see...party in Greensboro, joined a playgroup, 1 month old, thumb sucking, doctor appointment, smiling :)!
A couple of weeks ago Maryanne, Ray, Debbie and Kevin threw a party in Greensboro to welcome Mia! She got to meet many of our Greensboro friends and spend the night at grandma and grandpa's house. We had a great time!!! Before the party we went for a walk in the park near Maryanne and Ray's. The picture below is a statue in the park that Ray always talks about.
I found a group on Meetup.com of stay-at-home-moms in our area. We have been to a couple of playdates and have made some new friends. We are in the 0-6 month age group and right now Mia is the youngest. It's nice talking with other new moms who are going through some of the same things I am. We have lots of fun things planned for October!
Mia turned 1 month old on September 24th!
In the past couple of weeks Mia has shown interest in her thumb. We have a great video of her trying to get her thumb in her mouth. (Hopefully I'll be able to post it soon.) Lately she has been able to get her thumb in her mouth, hold it there and suck on it. It's awesome! I'm sure there will come a day where we will wish she didn't know how to do it. :)
Mia had her 1 month doctor appointment on September 30th. She weighs 7 lbs 9 oz and is still 19.5 inches long. The doctor said that she looks great. We were concerned about the birthmark on the back of her head and her umbilical hernia. He said both were fine and shouldn't cause her any problems. She had to have a shot which I think upset me more than it did her. Overall it went great.
Last week we thought that Mia may have noticed us and smiled. We weren't sure but my mom thought the same thing. Now we get really good smiles every day. It's so exciting watching her learn new things!
