Race for the Cure

Last Sunday Mom, Maddie and I walked the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 5K.  We've done this race many times over the past 6 or 7 years.  One of the best things about the race is all the goodies in the tents afterwards.  Of course being pregnant all I care about is the food! :)

Baby Shower!!!

Yesterday Ashley and Virginie hosted a shower for me and I had a wonderful time!!!  We played some games, had some yummy food and of course I got some great gifts.  Here are some pictures.

After the shower some of us stayed at Rich and Virginie's to grill out.  More food!!!  When Jimmy and I got home we were too excited to go to bed so we decided to put the crib together.  More pictures!

Third Trimester...almost!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  We've been really busy and have lots of news to share.  Last weekend we went to Greensboro to celebrate Debbie's birthday.  Happy Birthday, Deb!  One of our favorite things to do is play games.  Normally we play a card game we call Cheat, but Debbie wanted to branch out a little.  This time we opted for Balderdash and we had a great time!  I can't wait to play again when we all go to the beach with my family.  On top of celebrating Debbie's birthday we also had other exciting news.  We asked Debbie and Kevin to be the baby's godparents!  After a little screaming and some tears Jimmy and I were so excited that they happily agreed.  We have all become very close and it means so much to us to have them fill this very important role in our little one's life.  We love you Debbie and Kevin!

On Monday I entered the 27th week of pregnancy.  Some consider this marker to be the beginning of the third trimester and some say it's in one more week.  Either way we are really excited to be this far along and swiftly approaching our baby girl's arrival.  Also, on Monday we went to the doctor for a monthly checkup and my glucose test.  The test screens for gestational diabetes and we are happy to report that I passed!  Yay!  On Wednesday we went back to the specialist for a growth scan ultrasound.  When we went back in March they found a cyst on the baby's brain which they were not very concerned about but just wanted to monitor.  This time there were no signs of the cyst so Jimmy and I were very relieved.  The doctor was a little concerned with the size of one of the ventricles in the baby's brain so we have to go back in a month for another ultrasound to see how that's going.  After talking with my friend Ashley's husband Scott (who just passed his final board exam...Yay Scott!) I felt much better.  Scott is a radiologist and was able to reassure us that as of now everything sounds normal and they just want to make sure things stay that way.  I've included some of the 3D pictures they took of our little one.  She didn't want to cooperate and in a few had her hand in the way of that cute little face.

This Sunday is another very exciting day as my friends Ashley and Virginie are hosting a shower for me here in Raleigh!  It should be lots of fun!!!  I'll post again after the festivities to give all the details.  :)
